ABOUT US

In 92 years of Academy Awards history, only five women have been nominated for Best Director, and only one has won. The She's Reel Film Festival is by young female filmmakers and for young female filmmakers and it aims to celebrate these artists as valued members of the male-dominated film industry.

Grace Conley

Grace Conley is a student filmmaker from Philadelphia, PA. She is a senior in high school, attending Science Leadership Academy. For the past three years, she has been heavily involved in the school's Career and Technical Education Program in Digital Video. In the program, she has made over a dozen films with an emphasis on directing and writing. She has completed film workshops at UCLA and The University of the Arts. She has a passion for telling personal and vulnerable stories. When she's not making films she's reviewing them on her movie review Instagram page GraceTalksMovies. Ruby Ginsburg

Ruby Ginsburg is a senior at Science Leadership Academy in Philadelphia. Since her sophomore year, she has been working towards earning a NOCTI certification through her high school's Career and Technical Education Digital Video program. This has given Ruby opportunities to learn and practice filmmaking in school, and also explore her love of photography and videography outside of school. Although she isn't sure what role filmmaking will play in her future, Ruby looks forward to further exploring media creation as she prepares to enter college.
